Was the Heiress Switched at Birth movie started when two women of about the same age happened to simultaneously be giving birth in the same labour room. A viewer’s first impression could be that the men who were impatiently waiting outside the theater were their different husbands. But no, something more mysterious happened to be going on behind closed doors.

It would turn out that they were best friends. Had gone to the same high school and university. Had met at the age of twelve respectively, when they both happened to be fresh students at a private high school. We would even be more elated when one of them turned towards the other and started a speech about how she was sorry the other’s husband had passed while on duty.

She would also solicit to her husband that they purchased the house next to her mansion in the expensive estate where she lived with her family for the other woman. Wow! This was amazing, someone was getting a rent free home without spending a penny of their own. The two women were Claire Watts and Edith Hanson, two lifelong friends who’d grown up supporting each other.

We would continue to think that all was well and celebrating, until Claire Watts woke up in the middle of the night to discover that her baby’s cradle was empty. While controlling the panic attack, she made her way to the nursery where she witnessed an occurrence she would never have believed, even if Jesus Christ himself materialized on earth to inform her about it.

There was Edith Hanson, her best friend of over 25yrs, standing by the children’s cradles. Her brother was also on her side and they were discussing switching the children. She listened as the most vile words tumbled out of her best friend’s lips, and watched as a woman she’d never seen angry in all the years, concocted her face into such wicked and hateful appearance.

Not only did she trust her, she’d also invested a lot into the relationship. Starting from the time she convinced her wealthy parents to include the girl in the Watts Group scholarship, even though she didn’t qualify for it.

To the time she offered her a permanent employment as her personal secretary when she became the CEO of Watts Group. This was a well paying job and not only did she not qualify for it, but there’d not been any interviews or exams. She’d also offered her uneducated husband a job in the company as her personal driver. But alas, switching their babies was how she chose to reward her kindness.

Even though Claire had caught Edith and her brother on the act switching the babies, she’d managed to control her emotions and decided to play her betraying best friend’s game. And even though she’d been of the impression that she’d taken very good care of the stranger she met many years ago, she’d listened as Edith treacherously explained to her brother that she’d been grossly mistreated.

She also said that her action was her way of achieving revenge for all that she put her through. She was hoping to devilishly raise her daughter in abject wickedness, while her own daughter will be raised as a princess under Claire Watts’s wealthy parenting. But as Claire picked up her baby, she vowed that nothing would happen to it and decided she would best Edith in her own game.

It was now 18 years later. The two kids had grown in their different homes. Edith Hanson had cultivated the habit of dotting over Phoebe —Claire’s daughter. If one didn’t know better, they would think that the girl had two mothers. While Edith wouldn’t treat her own daughter right or buy her something nice, she would offer to take Pheobe shopping and would buy her anything she pointed at.
