He’d been in the army for many years before Carl signed up for the job and as a result was preparing for retirement. His duties included monitoring the space required for a successful kill shot through the binoculars…

After which he was to provide usable advice to Carl for distance. The present mission produced more anxiety than the ones they’d previously accomplished. This was because the location was Afghanistan, right at the camp of some terrorist organization. They were air dropped and arrived the location under the cover of darkness, and before daylight, had chosen a vintage point.

This was also supposed to be Lewis Valentine’s last mission, after which he planned to retire back to Texas, where he’d purchased a retirement ranch and built a shooting range business. He had a daughter whom he barely spent some time with due to the busy schedule of the job. He was hoping to go home and enjoy the rest of his life catching up with everything he’d missed.

The location was a desert area and finding a vintage point had taken some time. But Lewis calculated the required space to a distance of 4000 kilometers. He advised Carl not to miss so they don’t give away their location as they were not properly covered.
