Harper Reeves, the strong female lead of the movie —How to Tame a Silver Fox, was having a party. She was the introverted kind, who found it extremely difficult (like some of us) to make friends and her one solution was to have enough of what she’d heard fueled the passion of her peers. She’d therefore planned the party to be inclusive of everything young college students liked. But there was less alcohol.

God forbid that it is only in her party that the liquor would be few. This was her first party and it was almost end of school year. Even though it was raining, she entered the rain in search of an open store to purchase more liquor. The oddity wasn’t just the rain, it was also late at night and the rain made it seem even later. In searching for an open store, she walked to the part of town, where the parents warned their daughters not to visit at night.

And at some point, she was stranded. She’d gone far form the estate where her father’s mansion, where she resided alone, was located. That was her other problem… her father, who was presently her only surviving relative was never home. He was either attending a meeting in Rome or a conference in Switzerland. For months, their only communication had been through the phone.

Seeing as she was stranded, she dialed his number asking for help. If Harper had been less than an adult, her father would have appeared as irresponsible. She was mad when she overheard the patronizing, bedroom voice of a lady, when he answered. Since he wasn’t in town and therefore incapable of helping his daughter, he dialed his best friend.

His best friend was a man who was a few years younger than him. He was handsome, chiseled jaw, nice biceps, tall and very macho. He was the president of a certain mafia group and a chain of nightclubs. He was ruthless and constantly frowning. He wasn’t a man to mess with, as his reputation followed him everywhere he went. Seeing he was owing Harper’s father a favour, plus the fact that she was also like relative to him, Chris Collins abandoned the victim he’d been teaching nice lessons with his fist and ran to rescue Harper.

Harper’s presence around that part of town was intriguing to vagabonds. The men who passed by her couldn’t help but notice. The fact that the rain had soaked her dress was another problem, but not as much a problem as the truck driver who’d parked by the road. While the men around her age could control their lusts around the inviting looking young lady, the old truck driver alighted to assault her.

He was abusing her and she trying to fight back, when Chris screeched to a stop in his Ferrari. The stupid man would attempt to fight to continue abusing Harper, but unbeknownst to him, Chris wasn’t the kind to mess with. He pulls out his gun and fires at the stranger. Harper was surprised at her rescuer. She was both surprised and amazed and a little self conscious. No, this wasn’t the way or the place to meet the man she’d grown to fantasize about in the wee hours of the night.

She’d known Chris Collins since she was a child. His presence around the house had become regular after her mother’s passing. He was her father’s best friend and exceptionally handsome to her. The age gap wasn’t a problem at all, her only problem was that Chris addressed her as “Kiddo.” That was a stopper. She’d been transfixed in his presence, watching every muscle, his grace and charm. Wishing he would hug and kiss her in the cold rain, and he says “Kiddo!”

While protesting as to her womanhood, and murmuring her disapproval, she entered the car and they zoom towards home. She wasn’t happy to have him around, especially at this time, when the house was teeming with potential friends. Any parties she wasn’t attending with her handbag of a best friend, was considered a flop. But Harper hadn’t anticipated the top society of her college at her little end of school year party. She was surprised to see the squad in her kitchen on return from purchasing liquor.

Chris had walked into the party with all the grace that accompanies an older man among young adults and Christina should be the first to get a bite. It was her right as the Queen of college and when Chris continued to prefer Harper over her, all hell would break lose and the party will take a new turn.
