American Sniper starts with a story of a man.A soldier named Carl Oliver was a sniper in the United States army. He was trained as a sniper and because it wasn’t too long after his first deployment when he started showing extra promise, he was included in the special forces and sent to only missions where other departments had failed. He had a partner named Lewis Valentine, an older veteran assigned to assist his kills.

While Carl was young and a recent recruit, Lewis had stayed long in the army and was preparing for retirement. Together, Carl and Lewis had completed a good number of impossible missions and had seriously bonded as only brothers in the army could. But a situation had arisen and the president had sanctioned a covert mission somewhere in Afghanistan against a few terrorists.

Carl and Lewis were called in and jetted off to the location. They were air dropped as they infiltrated the locality and found a waiting spot. The country of Afghanistan was well remarked for its vast space of deserts and it was in one of those that the terrorist outpost was located. By morning, the two soldiers had calculated a vintage point, the only available space to hide…

While it was Carl’s duty to do the shooting, it was Lewis’s duty to calculate the distance and provide a proper advice. He would judge the present distance to an impossible sum of 4000 meters range. It was the longest distance any sniper on record ever successfully made a kill, but seeing as there were no other hiding spots, Carl must not miss, else they would be discovered.

And to everyone’s surprise, Carl Oliver took the shots and successfully delivered the kill. It was Lewis who first called him the king of guns (KoG) and before his return to America, the title and news about his record breaking accomplishment had spread far and wide. But something had happened… this was supposed to be Lewis Valentine’s last mission before retirement…
