Sylvia Parker is an outstanding college student, with a full scholarship and big dreams ahead. Lawrence Calhoun is an English Literature professor known for his superior demeanor and aloof conduct.
Two very different people, who you’d never think would fall for each other, yet they do.
Due to having a lowlife father, who is abusive and addicted to drugs, Sylvia has to fend for herself to pay the bills, stay in college, and also support her parents’ addictions. This is why she works as a waitress in a strip club.
She’s a poor girl in a world of rich kids, thus her colleagues never miss a chance to bully her.
Sylvia’s most persistent bully? Phillip. He fancies her, but due to their social status difference, he just wants to take advantage of her. Together with Melanie, the school’s Queen Bee, and her minion Toni, Phillip often tries to put the scholarship girl in awkward situations.
Coincidentally or not, Lawrence shows up in the club and the two of them lock eyes while Sylvia is dancing. Later on, she’s requested to attend a client in the VIP room. Surprisingly, Lawrence is the man who wanted a person lap dance, prompting the two of them to sleep together for the first time.
Things complicate though as Lawrence has to intervene when Phillip and Melanie bully Sylvia again. Now alone, the professor comforts the girl and the two of them share an intense make-out session.

There’s a generation gap between Lawrence and Sylvia. But their interactions and the girl’s maturity in handling things are the proof you need that age doesn’t matter when it comes to love.
Their prime impediment is their professor-student relationship. But, as you witness their journey throughout the movie, you can’t help wondering how can something feel so good yet indisputably forbidden.
I loved Lawrence’s character. He’s condescending with everyone, except for Sylvia. When it comes to her, he can be sweet, protective, and affectionate. He’s exactly the person Sylvia needs in her life right now, her breath of fresh air amidst the turbulence going on at home.
It remains to be seen whether their relationship will reach a dead-end or if they’ll find the right way to get back together. I can’t give you any spoilers, as it would ruin all the beauty and pleasure of watching this wonderful movie.

Sylvia
Sylvia Parker is the protagonist of Surrender to My Professor movie. She’s gorgeous, young, bright and daring. Although Melanie and Phillip constantly bully her at school, she doesn’t take humiliation easily, keeping her head up high and retaliating in any way she can.
Apart from her colleagues giving her a hard time, Sylvia must also deal with her abusive, drug-addicted father, who only sees her as a money-maker. To pay the bills and stay in college, she works as a waitress and occasional stripper.
After a surprising encounter with Professor Lawrence at the strip club, Sylvia shares a hot night with the guy. She falls in love and finds the comfort she’s always been looking for in the arms of her professor.
Lawrence
Aaron Oberst is part of the Surrender to My Professor cast and he plays Lawrence, the handsome, cold English professor who only softens in the presence of Sylvia.
Despite being professional and keeping his distance from his students, Lawrence finds himself drawn to Sylvia. Unlike his usual behavior, he crosses his standard moral boundaries and sleeps with the girl, ultimately falling in love with Sylvia.
The girl becomes his weakness, thus Lawrence has a hard time keeping his agreement to remain professional at school and lets his need to comfort Sylvia take over. This gets him into serious trouble, the kind of trouble that could end his career as a professor and terminate his most important project.
Phillip
A blonde handsome student, Phillip comes from a prestigious family, giving him the false impression that he can do anything he wants.
Despite being on the verge of adulthood, he still acts like an entitled brat, treating Sylvia like a toy he can play with or even abuse. Phillip constantly harasses Sylvia, even trying to take advantage of her, but fortunately, Lawrence is there to protect the girl.
Phillip is played by Laike Jowers, a rising, handsome American actor who can also be seen in other movies such as The Return of the Unwanted Wife or The King’s Guard and the Influencer.
Melanie
Bad and beautiful, Melanie is the school’s Queen Bee. She believes that her wealth and popularity give her permission to mistreat everyone. She especially likes to torment Sylvia, forging opportunities for Phillip to take advantage of her.
Melanie is actually jealous of Sylvia, of her perfect scores and she despises the fact that the hot professor takes her side every time she bullies her.
Melanie’s character was cast to Sarah Jayne Rothkoph, also known for The Porns, Grub Love and Just Our Luck.
