Part 1: What Is The High Society All About

The Slums of Santanare

Santanare, an island blessed by the ocean goddess, had everything. Breathtaking scenes full of lush greenery, an ocean that is as clear as glass; However, it also had its flaws from its long-standing tradition. In an island where the wealthy showered themselves with luxuries, a slum called Gimora housed individuals strapped for money.

High Society ReelShort movie introduced Adele, who was born in the slums with no last name and a parent. She grew up in Gimora together with her friend, Clarissa, before becoming a shoeshiner together while also hiding herself as a man. Unfortunately, her friend fell ill and on top of that, she had loans from her boss, Nino, that she couldn’t pay on time.

As Clarissa fell more ill, tons of payment stacked together before finally, Nino issued that Adele should pay or he would send her off to the coal mines while her sick friend would be working at a brothel. Unable to accept the conditions, Adele hid and escaped Nino before she finally met the wealthiest man in Santanare, Duke Cesare Buonaparte.

The Duke Of Santanare

Within the noble society of Santanare, Duke Cesare Buonaparte stood at the top of the hierarchy with the influence and power he had. Yet he still couldn’t escape the ancient marriage pact his family had long established with the Della Valle family. His family must send one person to marry into the Della Valle family. Unfortunately, the only person capable of marrying in the present is Cesare.

To make matters worse, the partner assigned to Cesare was Lucrezia Della Valle. On the surface, she appeared to be noble and elegant—like a deity no one can touch; a saint with a pure heart and clean conscience. However, Cesare knew deep down her facadé lies a psychotic persona she has suppressed far too long.

But he had one option left, risky but rewarding. He would find someone to pretend to be his long-lost sister before sending her off to Della Valle, it was a simple plan of course. But the problem is, once that person is caught, they’ll be imprisoned or sentenced to death.

Who would be willing to risk their lives for that? Right, luckily, Adele, the person who was willing to do anything, overheard him while she was busy shining his shoes. With both parties in desperate straits, the plan soon took place.

Long Lost Sister

The High Society movie plot enters its climax when Adele removes her disguise as a man to convince the Duke to accept her in his plan, he was awe-struck. No one would believe her beauty belonged to the slums of Gimora, but it wasn’t cunning enough to fool the minds of Della Valle.

His mind soon changed when he grabbed her hand, revealing a moon-shaped scar in her wrist, identical to the one he also bore in his hand. This was far more sufficient as evidence to make Della Valle believe she was his sister. Like a brother who found his long-lost sister by identifying her birthmark, it was a perfect scheme Cesare was about to execute.

Part 2: High Society Ending Explained

High Society ends with Adele successfully debuting as she follows Cesare’s plan. Just like how Cesare wanted things to go, Adele would now be sent off to marry Esdra Della Valle, the esteemed son of Della Valle. But, Lucrezia couldn’t watch her plans of marrying Cesare Buonaparte crumble just because of a woman who was introduced out of nowhere.

With her conniving behavior, she now secretly uncovers who Adele truly is and ruins Cesare’s plan.

How Adele Revealed Everything

High Society’s plot took a shift when Lucrezia finally carried out her plan, successfully discovering Adele and Cesare’s weakness, Clarissa. Lucrezia soon forced her to spit out every detail of her and Adele’s life. Finally, she got what she came for, evidence to prove that Adele really wasn’t Cesare’s sister.

On the other hand, Cesare soon found himself thinking of Adele every time. Like a lifeless person who received grace from a god, his long stale self began being painted with every color. His heart soon beat every time he saw Adele, the person who was supposed to act as his sister. Unfortunately, he must face the fact that Adele being sent off to marry someone else.

When Esdra soon learned of Adele’s true origin, his engagement with Adele was soon postponed. This prompted Adele to act, with her life on the line she had to come up with something. But when she heard how Clarissa was almost harmed, she finally had enough with the wits and how the high society worked. She soon admitted to everything.

Lucrezia’s plan never halted, even with Cesare’s plan uncovered, he still kept Adele by his side. This made Lucrezia act, to get rid of Adele for once and for all. Fortunately, at the end of the High Society drama, Cesare successfully stopped her before ending the story with Cesare and Adele finally confessing to each other.

Maria Barseghian is an actress, producer and writer. She graduated from University of Southern California studying acting and film. Maria is also known for her other roles in In the Palm of His Hand, Fated to My Bad Boy Alpha, Vino, and other works.

In the High Society ReelShort movie, she played as Adele. A hard-working and cunning person who was born in the slum before meeting Cesare Buonaparte and playing as his long lost sister.

Chase Mattson as Cesare Buonaparte

Next on the cast list is Chase Mattson, who was born on June 3, 1994 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Chase played the role of Cesare Buonaparte, the influential, stern Duke of Santanare in the High Society ReelShort movie. He was the one who planned to use Adele as his scapegoat to send off to Della Valle.

Chase is also known for his other works while still balancing his responsibilities as a father. He is known to cast in Sharp Obsession, Something Different, and also acted in In the Palm of His Hand together with Maria Barseghian.
