What more could go wrong, in King of Guns movie, after a soldier lost his bosom friend, who was his brother in arms, during his last mission to Afghanistan. And because the mantra was ‘no soldier left behind,’ he’d returned his body for burial in the United States. But his life had been changed forever, when he witnessed first hand the consequences of pulling the trigger in the service of his country.

This was the case in the movie King of Guns, the title Carl Oliver had merited after firing the bullet that covered a 4000 kilometers distance and executed two political criminals. But it was a title he rejected because he’d vowed to never fire another bullet, to desert the United States army, to fall off the grid, hide his identity and retire to Texas where he became a handy man.

Part 1: King of Guns Movie Summary

In King of Guns movie, Carl Oliver and his partner Lewis Valentine of the special forces had been deployed to Afghanistan and to a mission against a terrorist outpost in the country’s desert. While Carl was the sniper, Lewis was the eyes. His job was to monitor the space between Carl’s bullets and the target’s location. They’d arrived at night and after finding a hiding spot, had patiently waited.

It was now the morning hours and the enemies where beginning to up and about. It was at this time that Lewis found the targets. They were standing at the top of a building mounting surveillance. Because the surrounding areas were simply vast lands without any trees or brushes for cover, Lewis advised Carl not to miss so he didn’t give away their vintage point.

He would calculate the space between their hiding spot and the terrorists to an unbelievable distance of 4000 kilometers. After the initial advice, Carl surprised even himself when he successfully delivered the kill shots. It was Lewis who first called him the King of Guns, because in less than a minutes, he’d broken a record that no snipers or gun users on record ever did.

The soldiers had relaxed and started discussing Lewis’s plans after retirement. This was supposed to be his last mission, because while Carl was young, he was old and ready to go home. After taking off his helmet, he would display a picture of his children. Said he planned to return to Texas and his shooting range business to spend the rest of his days together.

Before the discussion ended, a stray bullet took him out. It was static in Carl Oliver’s ears and his world had fallen apart. After his return to the United States, he discovered that the news about his recent achievements had preceded him. In fact, the president had organized a thank you ceremony where he was to be handed a medal of honor. But nobody remembered Lewis.

Carl decided to escape the ceremony, stood the president up while at it and would disappear from the grid. While everybody knew about the king of guns, nobody knew who he was because he’d also hidden his identity and decided to make do with his promise to Lewis about returning to his home in Texas and taking care of his children as he’d dreamed to do before his death.

Part 2: Get To Know King of Guns Main Characters

Carl Oliver

Carl Oliver played the role of a man in the United States army. He was in the sniper department and the original American sniper of the king of guns movie. He was about 28 and a fresh recruit, but because he showed a lot of talent in the area of handling guns, he was swiftly promoted and included in the special forces.

It was here that he was partnered with an older, more mature and experienced soldier named Lewis valentine. After several years accomplishing impossible missions for their country, the two soldiers became like brothers. Nobody told Carl that Lewis’s death was not his fault, and because he was young and still emotionally raw, he would let his partner’s death change his life.

Jane Valentine

Jane Valentine was the female lead of King of guns. She was the daughter that Lewis valentine was talking about returning home to before he was gunned down. Jane was never able to spend a lot of time with her father, because he was constantly on the move as his job demanded. But she loved him very much and always wrote him the letters he read on the field.

She was working at the shooting range business she presently ran, when a handsome young man came looking for a handy man job. She would make one available without any idea who he was. He’d simply introduced himself as Carl Oliver, said he was a travelers and very experienced with guns. His services were needed as the annual gunslingers tournament was coming up.

Lewis Valentine

Lewis Valentine was the second male lead of King of guns. He played the role of a sniper’s field assistant. He was partnered with a young soldier named Carl Oliver and together they became the fearsome duo of the special forces team. But he’d been in the army for several years and was now within the retirement age. He was simply required to finish a last mission…

The one he’d flown to Afghanistan for in the company of his partner. It was mission accomplished and a world record had even been broken, when his partner covered a distance of 4000 kilometers and successfully killed two terrorists. Without ever imagining they’d miscalculated, he’d taken off his helmet lost in conversation when a stray bullet took him down.

Matthew Valentine

Matthew Valentine was the other male lead of King of guns. He was a wealthy business man and a junior brother to the late Lewis. This also made him an uncle to Jane Valentine, but he was a terrible uncle. Not only was Matthew terrible, he was also greedy beyond imaginations. He was the kind of man who wished his brother dead because he desired to covet his land.

While Carl had received a permanent heart break and Lewis’s daughter never stopped weeping at his death, Matthew Valentine had stood up and danced around at the news about his brother’s demise. This was because a thriving oil company had found some crude in the ground and he saw only opportunities. He would purchase the bank that sold it and begin to fight.

Part 3: Captivating Highlights of King of Guns Movie

King of guns episode 2:

Carl and Lewis had just accomplished the mission of killing two political enemies in Afghanistan. Before settling for their vintage point, they’d made sure to scan the perimeters and decide it was a perfect hiding place.

This was why they’d simply relaxed after the kills and taken off their helmets. It was Lewis’s last mission before retirement, therefore, they started to discuss his plans for the future. He’d just finished tabling them, when a stray bullet took him out.

King of guns episode 8:

Carl was seen by his grave side. He was weeping as only a soldier could because he was heartbroken that while everyone remembered his achievement of successfully delivering the kill shots that covered 400 kilometers, nobody remembered Lewis.

He would promise to desert the army, fall off the grid, hide his identity and retire to Texas where Lewis would have gone, to take care of the children he’d left behind. To fulfill this, he would skip the ceremony where he was supposed to receive the medal of honor.

This made it that even though everyone knew the title King of guns and the story behind it, nobody knew the man who’d made the accomplishment. Carl arrived at his late partner’s home, a ranch where he’d started a shooting range business…

And applied for a handy man job. Before long, he became known as an ordinary handy man who lived in a small room at the Valentine’s shooting range. His job was to clean the guns and fix every discrepancy. All was well until trouble came calling.
