If there was anything that Bella Watson could change in herself, it would be how emotionally fragile she was. She never liked how her heart always opened to anyone who’d treat her right. She knew she must consider their motives before she give a part of herself but she just didn’t have the courage to be dismissive.

All her life, her family taught her to always look at everyone as equal. Being the heiress of the richest family in the country, she knew the harm of letting her name dictate her own path. More so, affect the way she treated people.

The least she could do as an heiress was to be kind, affectionate, and considerate to everyone she encountered. Sadly, none of her efforts to be a good person reverted. In fact, doing so gave people more reasons to mock her, even taking advantage of her vulnerability.

The tumultuous dynamics between Bella Watson and Marc Pierce began with a lie that went wrong. Marc, having recently recruited into Harvard’s football team, saw the opportunity to feast on the attention and drop Bella as a courtesy.

For months that he pretended to be in love with her, he felt liberated to finally break free from her grasp. He got what he wanted, anyway. He couldn’t find any use of her other than being the laughingstock for him and his new girlfriend, Jessie.

It was messed up. To see him bullying her on the day she was supposed to celebrate with him as if he didn’t beg and pine for her before. Thankfully, Marc’s betrayal opened her eyes, and directed her to the path she was born into. And the first step she needed to take was to undergo major transformation. She didn’t have to change herself to be accepted but a little make-up, and change in demeanor will always be appreciated.

Turning herself into someone unrecognizable, Bella walked into the corridors that once loomed at her. Looking extremely attractive and ready for the battle that Marc started.

With her self-acceptance paving the way for her victory against judgment and prejudice, Bella became the Queen Bee who struck back. Once ridiculed for her weight, she was now conquering the same place she hated, and the same crowd who used to mock her.

Where the Lies, the Greed Falls Apart

In the end, Bella Watson and Marc Pierce never repaired their relationship, at least in the sense of closure. Bella remained resolute on her act of revenge, unleashing cruelty whenever it was needed, and never apologizing for herself again.  

Although the bullying minimized, Bella still suffered the worst against the primitive views of the school. They attacked her weight and tried their best to disprove her claim as the real Watson heiress.

Considering Marc and Jesse had been perpetuating so many lies, Bella struggled proving her own truth. Of course, she could call her father anytime to back her up. But showing her final blow so early would buy her enemies enough time to pretend they were remorseful.

Bella wanted to catch them in their most vulnerable state, taking the Prom Night as the best stage for their punishment. As expected, everything went according to plan. Marc and Jesse walked straight into her trap and got entangled with their own set of lies.

They tried to wrestle their way out of it but Bella blocked every way out, making sure they’ll never escape from it. With her father’s help, Marc, Jesse, and everyone who participated in the bullying received the rightful penalty.

Bella went home with triumph and with the satisfaction of knowing that none of her efforts failed. Had she not chosen herself, she would have remained a slave to people’s judgment. Accepting herself has been the most righteous thing she did and if history would rewrite itself, she’d do it all over again.
