Part 1: What Is the Rustblade Witcher All About?

Rustblade Witcher Plot Summary

The Rustblade Witcher Dailymotion movie starts with one terrible parenting decision after another.

Twenty years ago, Edmund, the Chief Commander of the Radiant Knights Order, desperately wanted a son to inherit his position. The gods granted his wish when his wife, Cecilia, gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Rex. Unfortunately, the celebration lasted only a few seconds.

The moment Rex was born, his entire body glowed. Instead of thinking his son is special, Edmund jumped straight to his wife to snatch and throw the baby into the ocean. Turns out, the glow revealed that Rex was a half-human, half-monster.

In Aurelia, that’s basically the worst family scandal imaginable.

Monster hunters may possess incredible powers, but society treats them as filthy outcasts of society. They’re looked down on, feared, and considered unworthy of receiving the gods’ blessings. So rather than protecting his newborn son, Edmund decides his reputation is far more important.

Here goes the Father of the Year award, slipping from Edmund’s hands.

He tosses baby Rex into the sea, hoping the monsters finish the job. Instead, the monsters lose because an immortal monster hunter named Gregor happens to be nearby.

Gregor, who has lived for more than 300 years and fought during the very first monster invasion, rescues Rex and raises him as his disciple. Under Gregor’s guidance, Rex becomes a powerful monster hunter capable of defeating enemies far stronger than himself.

Before sending Rex into the world, Gregor gives him one simple rule: never reveal his true strength. Rex promised to honor the rule—until one fateful day.

Armed with nothing but an old amulet, Rex travels to North Aurelia to search for the family that abandoned him. His search immediately takes a dramatic turn after he saves Livia, a Radiant Knight being ambushed by members of the rival Templar Elite Order.

Grateful for the rescue, Livia invites Rex home without realizing she has just welcomed her long-lost brother. And just like that, a silent and awkward family reunion takes place.

Although Edmund clearly dislikes monster hunters, he can’t exactly throw Rex out after the young man saves his daughter. Keeping up appearances, he agrees to grant Rex one request. Rex asks for help finding his family. He shows everyone the mysterious amulet he has carried since childhood.

The moment the grieving mother, Cecilia, sees it, she realizes the truth! Her missing son has finally returned, but she still can’t call him son.

She wants to reveal everything, but Edmund shuts her down before she can say a word. Apparently, protecting his reputation is still more important than admitting he once threw his own baby into the ocean.

As if the family drama isn’t messy enough already, the Templar Elite Order launches an attack on the Radiant Knights. The family confrontation is postponed. They challenge the Order to a duel where the loser must surrender its title and disband forever.

Confident and also arrogant, the Radiant Knights underestimate their enemies and fall into Leon’s carefully planned trap. One by one, they are defeated until only Cecilia remains standing.

Facing certain death, Cecilia finally reveals the secret she has hidden for twenty years—Rex is her son.

Now that Rex has finally found his real family, will he continue hiding his true powers, or will the legendary monster hunter step forward to save the very people who abandoned him?

Why Did Edmund Throw His Son Away?

In the first few episodes of the Rustblade Witcher Dailymotion, it was revealed that having the monster hunter bloodline is the ultimate disgrace in Aurelia. One telling sign of being a monster hunter is the glowing marks on the newborn’s skin, as well as changes in their eye color.

When Rex was born, his body glowed gold and his eyes turned gold too. The moment Edmund discovers it, he makes the most irresponsible parenting decision he could make: choose reputation over his own son.

But Rex is his son! If he has a monster bloodline, where did he get it? Did Cecilia cheat? Big no. Cecilia is so loyal that she never disobeyed Edmund’s order, not even to search for her own son. So what’s the catch?

In a later episode, Edmund reveals that the monster hunter bloodline came from him. When he was still an ordinary knight, a monster hunter saved him using his blood, which was then passed down to Rex. His deep-seated hatred for monster hunters came from witnessing his savior lose his sanity and side with the monsters.

Afraid that it might happen again, he decided to throw away Rex, the possible harbinger of chaos.

Part 3: The Journey of Rex in the Rustblade Witcher Movie

Despite being abandoned at birth, Rex receives love and support from his mentor, Gregor. Rex also treats Gregor as his family. The two live and train together in the mountains for twenty years.

During their stay, Rex even met his first and only disciple, Arthur. Arthur is the strongest knight, the holder of the first seat in the Round Table Knights. Rex was a kid back then, but his prowess is far greater than that of the adult Arthur.

Aside from growing his strength and muscles, Gregor didn’t forget to teach him manners and honor. That’s why when he saw Livia that fateful day, he didn’t think twice and help him. When his mother was ready to sacrifice herself for the Order, he stepped up. Rex has more knightly honor than his father.
