Part 1: What Is the Storyline of Sweet Homecoming?

Hallie Bildner would have to return to her past if she wanted to completely free herself from the ropes of marriage. How would she go about it?

Thinking that she had been divorced from her high school sweetheart, Hallie moved on. She was a successful CEO, so she met up with a billionaire of her rank, and soon they were engaged.

According to Sweet Homecoming Movie, Hallie was moving way too fast and had to return home to make amends with her past. How could she not have confirmed that she was thoroughly divorced before she left her hometown?

While she was basking in her engagement to the billionaire politician she had cuffed, she learned that she was already a married woman. Hallie’s high-school sweetheart had not signed their divorce papers.

Hallie decided to take drastic measures by first returning home and ending everything, this time, for sure. She was determined to obliterate the marriage once and for all, but by the time she arrived, she was shocked.

Hallie would not discover that she was a mother. She would discover that getting rid of her high school sweetheart who was still her husband, was not that easy. She saw her daughter Natalie, and things took a drastic turn.

Natalie’s mischief would also hold Hallie back from leaving her hometown at the planned time. It will cause her to stay longer, allowing sparks to fly and causing her to fall in love with her ex-husband again.

Also, beyond the facade that Hallie was aware of, there was an actual reason her ex broke her heart. Yes, he was the person who broke up with her.

It was all Hallie’s father’s fault. He made her ex, Craig, break her heart. The reason? It was that Craig was not good enough for his daughter. He wanted better for her.

That secret existed, alongside the fact that a seven-year-old was calling Hallie mommy out of thin air.

Part 2: Sweet Homecoming Actors and Their Roles

Macy Minear as Hallie Bildner

Hallie’s real name is Macy Minear. She is the lead female character in Sweet Homecoming movie. Hallie had moved on after a devastating heartbreak with her high school sweetheart. She left her hometown for good and went to be great somewhere else.

Hallie moved on to become a CEO in New York City. She became a force to reckon with, putting behind her the heartbreak and pain she felt in her past relationship which she thought ended in a divorce.

Hallie was engaged to get married to a billionaire politician, but little did she know that she was still tied up to her high school sweetheart back home. He did not sign the divorce papers when he was breaking up with Hallie.

This happened seven years ago, and Hallie had to return to set things straight and move on. However, upon Hallie’s return, she was met with a catastrophic secret that changed the pace and direction of everything she returned home for.

Upon getting home, Hallie discovered that she had a daughter. Also, it was only when she returned home that she realized that her ex had broken up with her because her father forced him to do so. How pathetic.

Coupled with the fact that her daughter was being mischievous and causing a delay in Hallie’s return to New York, Hallie would stay back and start having feelings for her high school sweetheart all over again. Someone should please tell her to move back to her billionaire politician fiancé. 

Dan Cropley as Craig

Dan Cropley took on the role of Craig in Sweet Homecoming short drama. Craig was Hallie’s high school sweetheart that I personally think should stay away from her. Craig had his chance with Hallie, but he blew it.

As a man who was surely in love with Hallie according to him, why did he allow Hallie’s father allow him to break up with her? Had he not seen situations where people fought for true love?

Craig did not sign the divorce papers after breaking up with Hallie. It must have been seen as a good thing. How about letting her go since he could not be a man at the time?

Also, he hid the fact that Hallie had a daughter from her. He just held on to Hallie in so many ways that although she thought she had moved on from him, he still owned her.

It would be the most intense reunion between Hallie and Craig when she returns for him to sign the divorce papers. Also, trust Craig to make things difficult for Hallie.

Of course, she was now successful, so she was more attractive. Craig won’t let her go easily. He would drag the matter, dragging her back into being in love with him.

Part 3: What Happened to Hallie in Sweet Homecoming Movie?

One thing that is for sure about Sweet Homecoming movie is that everyone would want to see what happened to Hallie at the end of the day.

Hallie left a relationship, in fact, a marriage with her high school sweetheart in the most painful way. It happened the way it did even though there were facts and secrets she knew nothing about.

Okay! Moving on made Hallie face herself inwardly, causing her to heal and make something out of her life. Tell me, do you think Hallie would have been the CEO she was in New York if she remained in her hometown with her high school lover?

Honestly, I bet not. And that was the reason her father made her break up with her former lover in the first place. Okay. Hallie had faced heartbreak, healed, and seven years later, she realized that she had to return to the place that caused her great pain.

Do you know what is even more painful? Hallie was engaged to a billionaire politician who obviously treated her right. So why would she have to go back to her high school sweetheart whom I consider a loser?

Moreover, why did Craig not sign the divorce papers all along? For crying out loud. All he had to do was sign the document. Hallie did not even necessarily have to return home if not for the fact that her ex was proving difficult.

The next thing, he brought a daughter out, claiming that she was Hallie’s daughter. Please, is it possible to carry a baby for nine months without knowing? Or were her eggs stolen? Craig most definitely had a lot to answer for.

It is easy to be blinded by true love or whatnot, but in this case, I would rather maintain that Craig was being selfish, scheming, and opportunistic. His character would send the viewers raving angry at his audacity.

Part 4: Sweet Homecoming Movie Review

After all has been said, we have to commend the writer of Sweet Homecoming movie. The fact that the writer was able to come up with a plot that would cause emotional uproar is a skill that not every writer has.

Stirring a reaction from a crowd is a commercial feature that everybody should learn but not everybody can learn. If you can control the emotions of a group of people, then you surely have them under your sleeve.

With that being the case, I recommend the author of this movie to go ahead and come up with more emotionally provoking plots that would send everyone off.

The cast of the movie did the justice that was rewired of them. They took up their roles and made it appear as if we were watching a real-life situation. Congratulations to everyone involved for a successful showdown of talent and storytelling.
