Part 1: A Quick Recap of the Waterboy Second Down Season 1

Waterboy Second Down Season 1 is a high school romance between Kaden Russell and Donovan Miller, two students who are leaders of rival groups and can barely stand each other. Their feud begins when Kaden has an embarrassing dream about Donovan, making him the joke of the school. Donovan joins in the teasing, giving Kaden more reasons to hate him.

Kaden, as Student Council President, cuts the football team’s budget, to get back at him. Donovan doesn’t think twice about challenging him when football is the only way for him to run after his dreams and escape the future his family has mapped out for him.

But Kaden won’t give up. He also needs the funding to build a strong resume and enhance his chances of getting into Harvard.

Things get worse when Kaden pranks the football team by spraying rainbow paint on their uniforms. The prank indirectly leads to Donovan getting injured. As punishment, Donovan makes Kaden the team’s exclusive waterboy until an important match.

Forced to spend time together, their heated rivalry becomes something more. Donovan and Kaden confess their feelings for each other. Despite the challenges, their love conquers all—even the hearts of their parents.

Season 1 ends with a love note from Donovan and Kaden. Their love story stayed with us and months later, the most-awaited season 2, Waterboy Second Down, finally came!

Part 2: Waterboy Second Down Plot Summary

Donovan Miller publicly admits his feelings towards Kaden Russell and the two become an official couple in the Waterboy Second Down YouTube movie. Their relationship is no secret anymore.  The town knows the honour student and the star football player are an item.

But not all their lives are romance. Kaden and Donovan both dream of going to college together and they do get into a university in the West. Everything is going as planned until Donovan receives unexpected news—he’s been accepted by an NFL team.

Initially, Donovan is excited. But the thought of being away from Kaden makes him pause. Kaden reassures him that long-distance relationships are possible. They get to visit each other over holidays and school breaks. Donovan agrees, but he still can’t shake the fear of losing the person he loves.

Donovan refuses to sign his NFL contract on the day he is supposed to. Instead, he grabs Kaden. He’s ready to give up his football career if that’s the only way they can be together.

His parents are very much opposed to his decision and even Kaden tries to talk him out of it. Donovan is stubborn, and won’t change his mind and his mom blames Kaden for everything. Kaden feels guilty and makes a difficult decision.

Waterboy Second Down movie raises its stake when Kaden ends things with Donovan to protect Donovan’s future. He even gets a friend to pose as his new boyfriend so that Donovan will finally let him go. Donovan begs to stay in touch but Kaden severs all ties, knowing that staying in touch will only give Donovan hope.

Three years later, fate brings them back together. Now Kaden is an intern at a company and Donovan is back as a major client The hurt of the past still lingers and Donovan says he is planning to get his revenge.

But can he really move forward with revenge when the person he never stopped loving is standing right in front of him again?

Sky Kawai as Donovan Miller

In Waterboy, Donovan Miller is the star and captain of his high school football team. He has been a football lover since he was a kid, mostly because of his father who is a football coach. Donovan is a star on the pitch, but he often carries the weight of the expectations put on him and the future his family has already charted out.

Things begin to fall into place once he starts dating Kaden Russell. Donovan knows that he loves football but that he loves Kaden more. In fact, he’s willing to give up his shot at the NFL if it means staying by Kaden’s side.

Donovan Miller is played by Sky Kawai, a model and fitness advocate. Sky began his modeling career before transitioning to acting, where he was recognized for his commanding presence and athletic build.

Waterboy is one of his ReelShort efforts, after his role in the interactive series Pool Boy. Sky’s increasing collection of BL programs includes his recent drama Stableboy and the current drama Waterboy Second Down.

Declan Clifford as Kaden Russell

Declan Clifford plays the role of Kaden Russell in the Waterboy Second Down YouTube movie. He is the rival of Donovan and the Student Council President. He loves Donovan so much that he’s willing to hurt himself just for him to pursue his dreams.

His decision cost him Donovan and his mental health. After the break he flunk his studies. From the top student, he now struggles to even keep up with his classmates.
