Every weak-to-strong drama has a parent making bad parenting decisions and a protagonist whose power is sealed, yet they would miraculously become stronger than anyone else even without full power. Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King is not an exception.

Same premise, in a realm where vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural surprises exist, the long-standing war between the vampires and werewolves almost drove both clans to extinction.

The war continued until the other races had enough. The Sacred Rank Masters crawled out of their cave to give both clans a good beating and scolding. But if you think this would stop a century-old dogfight? That’s impossible. They just went low-key with the killings.

Nory wouldn’t have been a part of any of this war, if his graduation test didn’t involve Ryan, a Vampire Lord notorious for secretly hunting werewolves. If Nory passes this test, his masters will allow him to descend the mountain to visit his mother from his original pack.

More than a decade ago, Nory was expelled from the Bronze Wolf Pack for failing to transform into his wolf. The five-year-old child wandered alone in the wild forest until the three masters found him.

Master Adam, Ben, and Cora raised Nory as their own son and disciple. They trained him despite being wolfless. Nory didn’t slack off either. He became strong through his fists, able to take on a Vampire Lord that even three powerful elders from the werewolf clan couldn’t take down.

However, despite his achievements, Nory still thinks he’s weak. His master raised him telling him he’s still weak. Nory’s concept of strong and weak becomes distorted. Still, it helped him to grow up humble.

Despite that, he still wants to see his mother whom he had not seen for years. With his master’s permission, he descends the mountain and heads to the Bronze Wolf Clan.

As it happens, the clan is preparing to send off its brightest youth to take the academy’s entrance exam. If they succeed, they will become one of the pillars of the generation, a glory every pack covets.

But to see his mother, Nory also has to pass the entrance exam.

But how can a wolfless werewolf enter a prestigious school? Find out when you read the Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King novel on ReelShort.

Part 2: Ranking Every Major Arc of Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King

We’ve read the full story of the Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King novel and picked up the major plot arcs of this story. Below is how we ranked every major arc from our least to most favorite.

Let’s see if we do have the same bias with this book.

Rank 5: The Introduction Arc

Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King full episodes

The Introduction Arc takes the fifth spot in our list after careful consideration. It’s not that it’s bad, but it just couldn’t compare to the other arcs in the latter part.

This arc introduces Nory and his backstory, which we all know is just a sob story of his abandonment. It also starts with a show-off of Nory’s power, contrasting with the three powerful elders’ tired and heavily wounded appearance.

There isn’t any build-up to Nory’s power level. The fast-paced narration of the book delivers us straight into the action. Yep, one minute in and we already know that our protagonist is OP as hell.

Rank 4: Nory Faces Off with a Vampire Elder

This arc is shown later in the book, and that’s the reason for its low rank.

After Nory defeats the First Prince Ryan, the First Sire arrives at a grand entrance. Everyone was stunned and scared, thinking they wouldn’t survive this one. However, in truth, this arc just repeated the previous one before this. Less fighting and more talking.

The antagonist got some crazy build-up and a long list of qualifications, only to engage in a battle of the tongues with Nory. They didn’t wield their powers, but they sure brandished their tongues, and Nory won.

Rank 3: Nory Defeats the Vampire Prince

The third on the list is actually the climax of Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King ReelShort. Nory had just overcome his self-doubt when the First Vampire Prince ambushed the testing site with his men.

Apparently, he’s there to brag about his recent level-up and avenge Vampire Lord Ryan as a side quest. The fighting scene is stimulating, befitting of his title as the Vampire Prince, unlike the passive-aggressive exchange of Nory and the Elder. They sounded like gamers in a computer shop trash-talking their enemy team.

This arc got a high rank because there was a real fight. Fist to fist. Plus the Vampire Prince is not underwhelming.

Rank 2: Nory’s Journey to Heal His Mother

Apparently, Nory’s journey doesn’t end with defeating the vampires. He needs to set the record straight, and that is meeting his mother, Iris. Their joyful reunion is cut short when Iris’s old sickness flares up. That’s when Nory discovers that her mother is suffering the consequences of trying to find a method to unlock his bloodline.

This arc would have been our favorite if it had the right pace. What happened in the Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King novel is that the arc became a block of text.

The journey of Nory could have been expanded more.

Rank 1: The Test

Although this arc doesn’t have grand revelations and plot twists, it is still able to sustain the suspense and thrill until the end. A lot of characters were also introduced here. It has the right amount of pacing, and every scene is a must-watch.

It looks like all the budget went into this arc instead.

Part 3: Thoughts on Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King Novel

Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King ReelShort

Zero to Alpha Return of the Wolf King didn’t just defy expectations, it even threw away plot progression and dumped every cliché weak-to-strong arc. But well, if you’re not a serious reader and are just in for the laughs, this story is an absolute banger.

For a short story, it already did more than we could expect. From Nory’s obliviousness to him realizing everything, it became the novel’s statement.

Part 4: Summary and Conclusion
