Part 1: What Is Roaming the World Untamed BiliBili All About?

Roaming the World Untamed BiliBili follows Rian Calder, the last Dragon Speaker, whose journey from a neglected child to an exceptionally powerful wielder of dragon magic begins with a family who has an Olympic gold medal for abandoning their legal wife and son.

The story begins with Elena, Rian’s mother, entrusting her newborn son to Aurelian, the Last Dragon whom she had the strongest bond with. Giving birth to Rian has drained Elena of her life force and cost her the abilities she once possessed. With her health failing, she decides to leave her son in Aurelian’s care.

She wishes for the mighty dragon to teach her son to become strong enough to stand on his own, without relying on his worthless father. How terrible a husband and father is the House of Calder’s Patriarch that her wife couldn’t be bothered to leave their son to him?

Unfortunately, Rian’s father, Duke Alaric Calder, does absolutely nothing to prove that Elena made the wrong choice. Alaric already has a mistress named Morgana, whom he was seeing even before Rian was born. Instead of supporting his legitimate family, the duke allows Elena and Rian to suffer in poverty while Morgana and her illegitimate son enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.

Things become so desperate in the Roaming the World Untamed movie that young Rian must steal bread from stores just to keep himself and his mother from starving. Is the Duke not afraid of rumors about his household not having enough money to support its young master?

And Alaric somehow manages to make the situation even more ridiculous. Despite openly maintaining an affair, he suspects Elena of cheating on him. The man is apparently so committed to hypocrisy. And he could teach an entire master class on it.

Ten years later, Rian has transformed from a starving child into a formidable warrior and he has mastered the dragon magic taught by Aurelian. He has spent a decade training under the Last Dragon, developing the strength and abilities that make him far more powerful than anyone in the Calder household could have imagined.

To make the family notice him, he showed great potential, making the Calders believe that they could exploit him someday. However, that’s just their wishful thinking.

Unfortunately for them, Rian is not interested in playing the role of obedient son. Rian deliberately ruins his reputation by drinking, gambling, and behaving like a complete wastrel. He refuses to let his father claim the honor of his achievements without having shared any of the suffering that made those achievements possible.

Rian’s rebellious act continues until an official letter from King Constantine summons him to participate in a knight’s duel. He refuses at first, but when he finds out whom he has to save and what the stakes are, he does not hesitate to finally tear off his mask.

Part 2: How Did Rian Save Princess Isabel in Roaming the World Untamed Movie?

2.1. Princess Isabel Once Saved Rian When He Was a Child

Before Rian became the powerful Dragon Speaker trained by Aurelian, he was simply a hungry boy trying to keep himself and his dying mother alive. With no father willing to provide for them, Rian had to steal food just to survive.

During one of those desperate moments, he stole bread from a merchant and was caught. The merchant was ready to punish him when Princess Isabel intervened and paid for the bread.

Isabel’s kindness has stayed on Rian for years. So, when Isabel is the one in danger, he never hesitates to abandon his disguise to repay the kindness he had received in the past.

2.2. Rian Unleashes His Hidden Power

Rian abandons his act as a reckless noble in Roaming the World Untamed BiliBili and steps forward to challenge the half-orcs.

The duel sets the stage for Rian’s grand reveal. Everyone who was mocking him in the past, was stunned by his display of power. His dragon magic and combat abilities make him a formidable opponent, and he finally puts his training to use against the half-orcs threatening Princess Isabel.

Rian saves Princess Isabel through his sheer will and effort. He uses magic when he needs to, and wields his weapon if he must. He was such a flexible warrior that he was able to defeat the three half-orcs in no time.

Part 3: Thoughts on Roaming the World Untamed Bilibili

Review of the Roaming the World Untamed Movie

Set in the Fantasy world where humans are at the bottom of the food chain, Rian Calder is humanity’s hope against the ultimate enemies: the undead. But of course, every hero with a savior complex has to have a sob story. Though, Rian doesn’t have a hero complex. He doesn’t even care about the world, until gratitude forces him.

The plot of Roaming the World Untamed BiliBili movie does not differ from many fantasy animations, but it has its own charm that makes people want to watch it until the end. The execution feels a bit rushed, especially the part where Rian and The Sanctum have to fight The Undead General.

The romance plot in this drama is also just an afterthought, but it would be better if they were able to add more scenes of Rian and Isabel getting to know each other.

Still, Roaming the World Untamed is a decent series for your weekend marathon!
