Marcel Wallace could not wish for more. He had a staggering basketball career, plus he had a happy family. With his wife having just given birth, he thought that someday their son would follow his successful path. Hailed as the Sniper and the season’s MVP, it was like a dream come true.

But on that very night, the victory he was supposed to celebrate did not happen. As the media took pictures of him, his beloved wife was stabbed and killed. He could not believe that in the blink of an eye, he could lose his inspiration. It caused him deep disappointment. He kept on blaming himself for what happened.

As a result, he promised himself not to play basketball again. From being a formidable basketball legend, he was now a shattered man filled with guilt. Days turned into nights as he started to become an alcoholic. When he felt like he was giving up, he gave his son, Mars, to his sister-in-law and went away.

Two decades had passed, and Marcel was working in a burger stop. But it seemed that bench gave him one last shot. When he got fired, he met an old friend from his previous team, Lightning. At first, he was hesitant to accept the invitation to be a coach. Yet as soon as he saw Mars playing with the same team, he felt like he should not give up.
